On Friday, June 9, 2023, Christians from Poland and Ukraine participated in the penultimate, ninth conference of the Polish-Ukrainian Bible Institute in Lublin, entitled „The Bible as History.” The lectures were led by American lecturer Dr. Buz McNutt.
Participants in the lectures looked at the Bible as a coherent story and together with the lecturer analyzed the biblical narrative for possible applications in their ministry. This is because the Bible stories, in addition to recording facts, contain profound truths about God and are not a collection of facts of dates and places, but show God’s sovereignty in history. The first lecture provided a simple understanding of the chronology and types of books of the Old Testament. In the second lecture, Professor Buz McNutt presented the stories in the writings of the Old and New Testaments that were used to illustrate God’s message.
Professor Buz McNutt is an American. He was born in 1953 in Washington, DC. He is pastor emeritus of First Baptist Church in Boynton Beach, Florida, and a former professor at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Reformed Theological Seminary. He taught biblical studies and taught New Testament Greek and Biblical Hebrew and hermeneutics at several colleges and universities. His responsibilities also included establishing churches, evangelizing in orphanages in China and Chad, and working on Bible translations in Papua New Guinea.
Lectures from the ninth convention are on the YouTube channel of the Polish-Ukrainian Ukrainian Bible Institute.
The Polish-Ukrainian Bible Institute in Lublin is the first project of its kind in our country.
